Les aéroports new-yorkais ont été fermés une partie de la journée de lundi, afin de se désembourber d'un important blizzard.
Originalement prévue pour 16h, la réouverture des pistes des aéroports new-yorkais s'est plutôt effectuée vers 18h.
L'état d'urgence est toujours en vigueur en début de soirée dans certains endroits, notamment au New Jersey, au Maryland et à Philadephie
Plus de 4000 vols ont été annulés dans les derniers jours en raison de la tempête qui sévit sur le nord-est américain.
Les aéroports de Boston et Philadelphie sont rouverts depuis lundi matin, de même que celui de Baltimore, malgré l'interruption des vols de Southwest Airlines. Les transporteurs aériens prévoient un lent retour à la normale, à compter de mardi matin.
Pour ce qui est des trains, la compagnie Amtrak a aussi annulé des dizaines de départs. Les trains entre New York et Boston, suspendus dimanche, ont recommencé à circuler depuis 6h15, lundi.

Plusieurs vols quittant Montréal à destination des provinces de l'Atlantique et de l'est des États-Unis ont été annulés ou retardés, lundi, en raison de fortes précipitations de neige s'abattant sur ces régions.
Des milliers de voyageurs doivent donc trouver d'autres vols ou tout simplement annuler leurs déplacements.
Air Canada a émis un avis, tôt lundi matin, selon lequel plusieurs vols ayant les Maritimes comme destination risquaient d'être annulés ou retardés.
Un peu plus tard, l'aéroport Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau confirmait que de nombreux vols étaient annulés dans les provinces de l'Atlantique, ainsi que l'est des États-Unis, spécialement à New York, Newark et Boston. Les heures de départs des vols annulés s'étendaient sur toute la journée.
Le service d'autobus vers New York a maintenant repris, mais tous les transports vers les Maritimes étaient encore annulés en début de soirée.
À Toronto, 220 des 1254 vols devant décoller de l'aéroport Pearson ont dû être annulés, causant la frustration de nombreux voyageurs.
«Je comprends que le temps est catastrophique à New York et ce n'est pas la faute de la compagnie aérienne. Mais, Air Canada met beaucoup de temps à aider les milliers d'entre nous qui tentent de revenir par un moyen alternatif, a déclaré Howard Sereda, 57 ans. J'ai fait une file à part durant une demi-heure pour finalement arriver au comptoir et me faire dire que mon vol était annulé.»
Matthew Reese, 20 ans, est arrivé de Frankfurt en Allemagne dimanche soir. Il est coincé à Toronto depuis. Il y faisait escale avant de prendre un vol d'Air Canada vers Philadelphie, qui a été annulé. «J'étais très frustré, mais nous avons eu une chambre et un bon repas plutôt que de rester à l'aéroport... Et là, nous cherchons un autre vol, encore.»
La tempête se déplace
En début de journée, Environnement Canada a émis des avertissements concernant d'importantes chutes de pluie et de neige pour les provinces de l'Atlantique. Des vents de 80 km/h devaient aussi souffler sur la région, pouvant causer de hautes marées.
Cette même tempête, qui a frappé l'est des États-Unis, s'est aussi abattue sur le sud du pays, dans des États comme l'Alabama, le Kentucky et le Tennessee. Nashville a vu son premier Noël blanc en 17 ans.
Dans la région new-yorkaise, avec les vents, la visibilité était pratiquement nulle dans le secteur touché par la tempête, et la glace sur les routes compliquait la tâche des automobilistes.

Malgré cette accélération, la fibre ne séduit pas en masse. Selon le dernier bilan de l'Arcep, le régulateur des télécoms, le seuil de 100 000 abonnés FTTH a été atteint fin septembre, contre 89 000 à fin juin, 80 000 à fin mars et 55 000 en septembre 2009.
En trois mois, seulement 11 000 nouveaux clients sont venir grossir les rangs de la fibre optique, contre 10 000 lors du trimestre précédent. Pourtant, le nombre total d'immeubles équipés en fibre optique jusqu'à l'abonné et raccordé au réseau d'au moins un opérateur progresse vite. Il s'élève à 44 000 à fin septembre contre 38 700 au 30 juin 2010.
967 000 foyers sont désormais éligibles à cette technologie contre 910 000 à fin septembre et 840 000 à fin juin. Bref, le ratio entre nombre d'abonnés et appartements connectés reste le même, il tourne autour des 10%.
Pour autant, il n'y a pas matière à s'affoler. D'abord, les opérateurs communiquent assez peu sur la fibre. Entrepreneurial Responsibility
What is the difference between an employee and an entrepreneur? Entrepreneurs control their own success. Employees depend on the success of others. Entrepreneurs are responsible for their mistakes and their successes. When they mess up, they must accept the consequences. When an employee messes up, the company and shareholders live with the consequences.
Entrepreneurs are the backbone of the American economy because they continually innovate, expand, and create new goods and services that are exported around the world. They are also one of the few sectors of society that understands the principles of liberty, because their very livelihood depends on it.
Liberty is the opportunity to make a choice to assume responsibility and accept the consequences. This describes the life of the entrepreneur very well. They make a choice to assume responsibility for a business concept, and accept the consequences; hopefully profit, but possibly failure. Entrepreneurs operate in liberty and cannot operate when they are under control or restraint from external sources. No opportunity means no entrepreneurs.
The risks of ownership are higher than the risks of being an employee. As an employee, you get paid even if the owner makes a mistake. But the rewards of ownership are much higher than the rewards of being an employee. As an owner, you can make profits while your employees do most of the grunt work. You just keep everything on track, and are free to live the life you want. As an employee, you are under someone's control and direction. As an owner, you control and direct others. This brings much freedom as well as much responsibility.
If your company grows, you bear the responsibility for success, and the burden to care for your employees. They depend on you for their living. If you make a mistake, it affects more than just you. Think about how the failures and mistakes of relatively few people at the top of the world's biggest financial institutions caused disastrous consequences for millions of people worldwide when the economy collapsed in 2008.

But liberty is dependent on the ability of people to govern themselves, and that ability comes from a strong moral foundation. The leaders of the financial institutions failed to govern their behavior and exercise moral restraint in decision-making, and as a result, the government drastically increased its regulatory capacity of the financial sector in 2008. Individuals must either be governed by an internal source or an external source. The values of liberty are championed when people can govern themselves. ,Otherwise liberty is lost.
The founders of America made a huge initial deposit of liberty that has enabled continued prosperity for over 200 years. But that deposit will not last forever. The principles of liberty must be championed by a new generation, or the entrepreneurial spirit of America may be lost among the continual inability for citizens to govern themselves.
The preservation and sustainment of Liberty depends on you. It's time to discover liberty or lose it.

How Much Oil Is Left?
Simply stated there is growing evidence that we, in fact, are not running out of oil. If we are not then there should not be any mad dash to drill for new oils to quench the global appetite. At this point in history there are more proven oil reserves than ever despite many decades of increased consumption. So if we are using more because of the thousands of cars being built in China, India, Indonesia, etc. but in fact oil is not being decreased in any capacity, then perhaps we are being hoodwinked into believing exactly what the environmental extremists want us to believe.
The political ramifications of environmental extremists that subjugate the USA to conforming to unrealistic legislative hoops big oil has to jump through in order simply to do business here puts an undue burden on US citizens by being held hostage to middle east prices. In the past when gas prices were going to almost $5.00 a gallon in some regions the general population was traveling less, spending less, which drove the American economy to a standstill. When we allow countries not friendly to US interests to control our economy to this extent then it is time to explore other avenues of energy resources such as the water powered engines that are being developed that require no petrol products at all.
This leads to a scenario that may play out in the not to distant future. If things come to a standstill with Iran because it will not back off in its production of nuclear energy and the pursuit of the atomic bomb, then Israel attacks Iran taking out the nuclear facilities, then Iran will be left with very few options then to declare war on Israel and the United States. In so doing it could shutdown the straits of Hormuz and not allow oil tankers out of that region which would put a choke hold on middle east oil production that would drive oil prices to the brink. If you thought $5 dollars a gallon was extreme how about $10-$12 a gallon?
With this scenario in tow it is high time we come to our senses and go after these environmental extremists that hold our country hostage with its own laws. Let's get away from oil and start using alternative methods that will scale back any power our middle east foes have over us. If we use the water of our oceans for energy power because we have the technology to do it, why not shut down these oil spigots from countries that are using oil as a weapon against us? Decisions have to made, we are at a turning point soon in the future of America, we need to take a stand now, or forever be at the mercy of foreign countries.
